Discussion about the film One of Us / Conference of the 2025 Václav Havel Human Rights Prize

Lawyer Nattalia Matskevich introduced the film One of Us, which depicts the story of Belarusian political aktivist Sergei Tikhanovsky and his unfair arrest in Belarus. When talking about making the film, she added “We wanted to keep Tichanovsky 's name public and known, so that the oppressors could not secretly get rid of it. I think it worked, and I hope that the film was one of the steps that led to his freedom.” In discussion with Sasha Michailidis, she described her human rights law practice in Belarus and her experience in exile.
